This is my report on how I failed to install Debian GNU/Linux Linux 4.0 Etch on Toshiba Libretto 50.
Toshiba Libretto 50 with 32MB of RAM failed to continue booting process after loading initial ramdisk (initrd.img-2.6.18-4-686) of Debian Linux 4.0 Etch.
After pressing the Enter key at GRUB 1 screen, the system loaded the kernel (vmlinuz-2.6.18-4-686, 1260290 bytes), and then it loaded initial ramdisk (initrd.img-2.6.18-4-686, 4488010 bytes), and it displayed something like "Saving default", and then it reseted itself automatically, resulting in an endless loop of reset and boot cycle.
